ABLE BASSMAKER VINTAGE GUITAR EFFECTS PEDAL - VERY RARE OCTAVER EFFECT This auction is for an Able Bassmaker vintage guitar effects pedal. Very rare to find these days. In excellent working and cosmetic condition. It is powered by any 9 volt dc adaptor (adaptor not included in auction). Auction is for the pedal only, no box or instructions are included. The bassmaker acts as an intelligent octaver. A filtering process allows the octaver section to kick in on only the the lowest notes. This means that when you play a chord, the bassmaker will only play the root note of that chord (an octave below what is played) while allowing the rest of the chord to ring out normally. When used for playing lead guitar (or any single note playing), the bassmaker acts as a straight octaver (playing an octave below the pitch played). You can hear an audio example of the pedal here: http://soundcloud.com/discofreq/able-electronics-bassmaker Postage will be £3.00 to the UK, £5.00 to Europe and £8.00 to the rest of the world. |

90's Able Bassmaker
This is an interesting idea for a pedal, and pretty well done, most octave effects sound like dogshit. Also the link is to a recording of a cassette that the company made demonstrating the effects which is pretty awesome. Apparently there was another unit called the STRINGSMAKER which sounds pretty appealing, though I can't find a thing about it on the internet. The Bassmaker sounds like exactly the pedal I've been looking for. Too bad it was in England and went for US$285.66 plus shipping.
